CUAD Adds Three Inductees into the Hall of Fame

(July 3, 2013) The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) recently inducted three credit union professionals into the CUAD Hall of Fame.  The ceremony was held during the Awards Banquet at the Annual Summit that was held in Grand Forks, ND on June 7th.

The three inductees are: Marvel Ebenhahn, President/CEO Community Credit Union of New Rockford, ND; Patty Pretzer, former Marketing VP Town & Country Credit Union of Minot, ND; and Dick Schmidt, who serves on the Board of Directors at Service First Federal Credit Union of Sioux Falls, SD.

Marvel Ebenhahn has given 60 years to the credit union movement, working most of her professional career for Community Credit Union.  Hired as the credit union’s first manager, she has been the only manager that the credit union has had.  Marvel truly believes in the credit union system, its philosophies, and what it stands for.

Patty Pretzer retired in March of 2012 after 26 years with the credit union.  As VP of Marketing, she coordinated advertising, promotions, community relations, special events, and member services.  She was an active member of the Credit Unions United Chapter of Minot, serving on the board for numerous years, and was also a strong advocate for youth financial literacy.

Dick Schmidt has been committed to the credit union movement in South Dakota for the past 40 years.  He has championed the under-served, and urged credit union management and board to look beyond credit scores and focus on character and collateral.  He is a frequent volunteer at community events, using his own money and vehicle to provide opportunities for people to have access to the credit unions.  Dick has also been active in legislative efforts locally and in Washington DC.

Headquartered in Bismarck, Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) is the trade association serving credit unions in the Dakotas.  CUAD serves 72 credit unions in North and South Dakota, serving over 406,000 members, with assets in excess of $5.1 billion.  For more information about CUAD visit our website at www.cuad.coop.
