CU Members Mortgage ‘Dives Deep’ into Mortgage Lending for its 2013 National Mortgage Lending Conference

DALLAS, TX – December 18, 2012 – Today’s mortgage lending market is sometimes as mysterious as the depths of the ocean. To help navigate the unchartered deep blue lending seas, mortgage services provider, CU Members Mortgage, has already started making preparations for its 2013 National Mortgage Lending Conference to help its credit union partners, and those interested in lending, chart the proper course to succeed. With the theme “Diving Deep: A Quest for Mortgage Success”, CU Members Mortgage’s 16th annual lending conference takes place July 15-16, 2013, at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas with a dinner event hosted at the Dallas World Aquarium.

CU Members Mortgage will help its credit union attendees navigate mortgage lending for greater insight on regulation change, new technology, and best practices that will unearth and inspire new life for credit unions’ mortgage departments. Other sessions will also cover the latest loan products, what's next in regulation changes and technology, and servicing and compliance. The conference’s keynote speaker will be Olympic Gold Medalist Nikki Stone sharing her journey to surpass all odds. Attendees can discover more about the 2013 conference at http://www.cumembers.com/16th/index.asp.

Conference speakers include:

  • Nikki Stone became America’s first-ever Olympic Champion in the sport of inverted aerial skiing. What made her performance at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan so unbelievable, was the fact that less than two years earlier, a chronic spinal injury prevented her from standing, much less walking or skiing off a 12 foot tall snow jump that launches aerialists 50 feet into the air. Nikki will share her story of surpassing the odds and taking home the gold despite being told again and again it wasn’t possible.
  • Ben Rogers is the research director for Filene Research Institute.  He has served as the editor of The CEO Report and chairman of the National Directors’ Convention.  Today his responsibilities include managing and editing a large pipeline of economic, market, and policy research related to the consumer finance industry. Ben will share his insight into changing your mortgage approach for a changing population.
  • Best Practices Panel will feature credit union executives from across the country to share their best practices in mortgage lending bringing great success to their credit unions.
  • Bruce S. Wilkinson, CSP, will push you to your service best with a passionate look into service success. He is a      leadership/communication/culture implementation specialist, professional motivational keynote speaker and trainer. Wilkinson reinforces      personalized messages with humor, passion, enthusiasm, and authenticity.
  • Blaine Rada, CMG MI’s Customer Training Manager, will discuss growing your purchase market with a focus on what it means to be a purchase market specialist.
  • Dr. Jim Gaines, who is back by popular demand, is a research economist from Texas A&M University and will share an entertaining edge on the latest economic news.
  • Tracy Ashfield is President of Ashfield and Associates, a consulting and training firm that assists credit unions with mortgage lending strategy, development, policies, product design, training and strategic planning. Tracy also works with the NCUA and NASCUS to provide training and education on residential mortgage lending for examiners and regulators.

“We have lined up another stellar group of speakers for our 2013 show with some new twists and some of our all time favorites,” states Linda Clampitt, Senior Vice President of CU Members Mortgage. “As always, we look forward to providing our credit union partners with the most timely, relevant, and critical mortgage lending information in the marketplace today and will have a lot of fun doing it. We strive hard to make this a conference that will be remembered with plenty of practical takeaways that credit unions can apply in their day-to-day business right away. Our 2013 show promises to be our best ever.”
