Albuquerque, NM (January 6, 2025) |

The Credit Union Association of New Mexico (CUANM) is excited to announce two internal promotions, reinforcing its dedication to advocacy, education, and collaboration—the three pillars of its mission.

Chriselle Martinez, PhD, formerly Vice President of Partnerships & Development, is now Vice President of Legislative Affairs & Programs. She will focus on building strong relationships with legislators to advocate for New Mexico’s credit unions while continuing to oversee CUANM’s events and educational programs.

Sara Rochelle, formerly Director of Communications & Member Engagement, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Partnerships & Communications. Sara will grow CUANM’s partnerships and lead efforts to expand communication strategies that bring the credit union community closer together.

"Advocating for New Mexicans and our credit unions is something I’m passionate about, and I’m ready to dive in and make an impact," said Chriselle.

Sara added, "Collaboration is key to everything we do, and I’m excited to strengthen partnerships and help connect our credit unions in new ways."

Melia Heimbuck, CUANM’s President & CEO, shared her enthusiasm: "Chriselle and Sara are incredible leaders who truly understand the importance of advocacy, education, and collaboration. These new roles reflect their dedication to advancing credit union success and making a difference in our communities."

With these moves, CUANM is poised to continue delivering unmatched value to its members and advancing its mission to empower credit unions across New Mexico.
