Cornerstone Community Financial announces executive leadership team changes; names new CFO and first-ever CXO
Mark Evenson promoted to Chief Financial Officer from V.P. of Retail Services; Jennifer Dickey promoted to newly created c-suite position of Chief Experience Officer from V.P. of Talent & Culture
AUBURN HILLS, MI (July 27, 2022) — Cornerstone Community Financial (CCF) – a leading community-focused credit union with seven branch locations in SE Michigan and NW Ohio, 25,000 members and approximately $365 million in total assets under management – has announced changes to its executive leadership team.
Effective immediately, Mark Evenson has been named CCF’s new Chief Financial Officer, and Jennifer Dickey has been appointed the credit union’s first-ever Chief Experience Officer (CXO). Both Evenson and Dickey are being promoted to the C-Suite from vice president-level positions. The announcement was made by CCF President and CEO, Heidi Kassab.
“Both Mark and Jennifer joined the CCF team in 2020…which we now know would become one of the most difficult times in our country’s history…and throughout these many challenging days, both have proven themselves to be competent, capable and caring leaders,” said Kassab. “They are both richly deserving of these new opportunities and I know they will continue to help lead our organization forward with passion and purpose.”
Evenson, who joined CCF in May 2020 as V.P. of Retail Services, replaces Beth Wielgat as CFO. In his new role, Evenson is responsible for supervision and control of CCF’s general accounting functions, establishing and enforcing CCF’s accounting policies and procedures and focusing on the current and future financial markets serving the credit union’s different demographic areas. His experience includes nearly 20 years of work in financial management, accounting, compliance, operations management and business development.
A CUES-certified senior executive and CUNA-certified credit union financial counselor, Evenson has worked in the financial services industry since 2004. Prior to joining CCF in 2020, he served as manager of finance, administration and compliance for AMDG Financial in Plymouth, Mich. He is a Michigan native with a bachelor of arts degree in Management from Eastern Michigan University and a master of science in Corporate Finance from Walsh College of Accountancy.
Jennifer Dickey joined CCF in January 2020 as V.P. of Talent and Culture. She will now serve as the credit union’s first-ever CXO, or Chief Experience Officer, a newly created C-Suite level position at CCF. As CXO, Dickey will work to ensure the delivery of exceptional and consistent member experiences across all of the credit union’s products, services, channels and branches.
Dickey, who is PHR-certified and a SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), has worked in the financial services industry since 2004. Prior to joining CCF in 2020, she served as director of compensation solutions for MCUL & Affiliates/CU Solutions Group in Livonia, Mich. Dickey has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources, from Davenport University. She has been an active member of the Society of Human Resources since 2015.
