North Haven, Conn. (December 7, 2012) – As a part of its commitment to local community support, Connex Credit Union recently donated $802.60 to the Hamden/North Haven YMCA. The money for this donation came from the fees collected by a coin-cashing machine in the credit union’s North Haven Branch. Connex charges a five percent fee to members and a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the money collected to caring organizations in the community.
The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is an initiative to help raise funds to help local children and families in need to be able to access the YMCA facilities and programs. “These funds will help support Strong Kids Scholarships and memberships to participate here at the YMCA,” said Josh Royce, executive director of the Hamden/North Haven YMCA. ”We appreciate Connex’s generosity and support.”
“Connex is proud to support the development and well-being of kids in the community,” said Dana Clark, acting vice president of sales and service at Connex Credit Union.
If you are a local non-profit or charitable organization interested in participating in the “Coins for Change” program, please contact Chris Whalen at Connex Credit Union, at 203-603-5787 or cwhalen@connexcu.org.
