Connex Credit Union Selects Next President/Chief Executive Officer

New Haven, Connecticut (November 1, 2012) – After conducting a nationwide executive search, Connex Credit Union’s Board of Directors named Frank Mancini as the organization’s next President/Chief Executive Officer.

“The Board of Directors and I are very excited to announce that Frank will be the credit union’s next President/CEO,” said Fred Heimann, Chairman of the Board. “He has been an integral part of the organization for the past nine years. With his extensive experience and his proven dedication to Connex Credit Union, Frank will be a strong leader as the credit union continues to grow and reach out to more members within the communities we serve.”   Mancini holds both a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from The University of Connecticut, as well as a CPA designation. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced CEO Leadership Institute, as well as Darden School of Business’ CEO Institute.  He has been a part of Connex Credit Union’s executive team since 2003, serving as the Chief Financial Officer, during which time he also oversaw Information Services, Operations and Collections. In his role as CFO, he has helped the credit union grow to its current asset size of $380 million.   When asked how he felt about taking on the role of CEO at Connex Credit Union, Mancini said, “Connex Credit Union is a wonderful organization with great members and dedicated employees.  I feel privileged and honored to lead Connex into the future.”   Mancini will begin as President/CEO on November 1, 2012.

He is replacing John Edwards, who is retiring after leading Connex for 34 years. “John took us from a credit union focused on just a single employer in the New Haven area to what is today a $380 million community based institution serving over 45,000 members in three counties.  His contributions to Connex are greatly appreciated by me and our entire Board,” said Fred Heimann.
