Community First Credit Union expands with the opening of its 21st branch

Boulevard Crossing branch and connected retail to serve the Englewood area

Community First Credit Union, one of Florida’s largest credit unions serving anyone who lives or works on the First Coast, announces it has opened its 21st branch which is located at the Boulevard Crossing redevelopment at 5617 Beach Blvd. Boulevard Crossing and adjacent retail centers are undergoing major improvements and re-tenanting to better serve Southside and Englewood.

The new branch is strategically located along a busy commuter corridor and will serve over 21,000 Community First members who live within five miles. The site is between two of Community First's busiest branches in Arlington and Lakewood in a neighborhood that has historically been underserved by financial institution locations.

"Our Boulevard Crossing branch will serve more of our members where they are,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First. "Our rapidly expanding network of branches is integral to helping our members live their best lives through access to superior financial products and services nearby and in their neighborhoods.”

Community First will officially celebrate the grand opening of the branch February 12th through 17th. More information can be found here.

The Boulevard Crossing branch features Community First's new interior and exterior designs, including an open floorplan, upgraded digital technologies, and a historical mural depicting the history of the Southside. The 2,640-square-foot branch features two drive-thru lanes, two ATMs (drive-up and walk-up), and a night deposit. Community First purchased the 1.22-acre outparcel site and construction began in March of 2023. TTV Architects designed the branch, and it was built by Auld & White Constructors, LLC.

The Boulevard Crossing branch is part of Community First's largest one-time investment in its branch network. The credit union recently opened its 20th branch at Northpoint Village at New Berlin and Yellow Bluff Roads and is developing and building branches in Murabella (Branch 22) and Beachwalk (Branch 23) in St. Johns County. It is also planning a new branch at Southside Quarter in the Gate Parkway area which will replace the credit union’s existing Baymeadows location. The credit union's Branch Transformation Project is its comprehensive branch upgrade which improves member service with spaces that provide a modern retail experience.
