Champion Credit Union announces new Chief Executive Officer

CANTON, NC (January 7, 2015) — Champion Credit Union is proud to announce that its board of directors has named Jake Robinson as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective Monday, January 12, 2015. Jake succeeds Mike Clayton, who is retiring after serving as President and Chief Executive Officer since December 2005.

Jake earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Western Carolina University in 2010. He began his career with Champion Credit Union as a Management Associate in 2010, and was promoted to Project Manager in 2012. In June 2013, Jake graduated from the Southeast CUNA Management School in Athens, Georgia. He assumed the role as Vice President of Operations, transitioning to Chief Operations Officer in 2014. “Jake is a highly qualified individual of integrity and high morals,” says Clayton. “He is very capable of leading Champion Credit Union into the future.”

Jake is a current board member of the Haywood County Schools Foundation and chairs the Town of Canton Recreation Commission. He has participated with the Western Carolina University Department of Athletics Strategic Planning Steering Committee, served as the Chairman of the Young Professionals of Haywood, and as a board member of the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce.
