Central Ohio Credit Union promotes five associates to leadership positions

COLUMBUS, OH (April 19, 2021) — KEMBA Financial Credit Union, a $1.8 billion credit union in Columbus, OH, is proud to announce five senior and C-level promotions.

Amy Peterman was recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Peterman started as a Branch Manager in 2008, and most recently served as the Vice President of Virtual and Member Experience. In her new role, Peterman will be responsible for overseeing the administration and development of Retail and Virtual Branches, Business Development, Card Services, Operations, Member Experience, and Wealth Management.

“In the past 12-plus years, Amy has played an integral and strategic role in KEMBA’s growth,” said Mark Decello, KEMBA’s President and CEO. “From Branch Manager to COO and everywhere in between, she has had a positive impact on everything from products and services, to member care, one of our key initiatives,” he added. “I’m honored to have her by my side to serve our associates and members, and truly believe she is the right person to help lead the credit union into the future.”

Likewise, Brent McCoy was named Vice President of Credit Administration earlier this year. McCoy joined KEMBA in 2015, but has served in the credit union industry for more than 10 years. He has played a key role in enhancing KEMBA’s lending products and services, as well as uncovering innovative partnerships throughout his tenure. In this new position, McCoy will be responsible for loan operations and underwriting for all of the credit union’s loan products.

“Since starting at KEMBA, Brent has been dedicated to providing unique solutions for our members in the lending space,” Decello said. “His industry knowledge is an incredible asset to the credit union, and in this new role, we are confident we will continue to see enhancements within our lending products and services,” he added.

Additionally, KEMBA promoted Jason Johnson and Mike Montgomery, who previously served as Senior Branch Managers, to Directors of Sales and Member Experience. Respectively, each will serve a territory of our branch network and be responsible for overseeing their operation and development. Lastly, Derek Sears has been promoted to Director of Wealth Management and Financial Resources. Like Johnson and Montgomery, Sears began his career at KEMBA as a Branch Manager. In this position, Sears will be tasked with implementing and executing strategies designed to improve internal and external partner engagement, new membership growth and growth in assets under Wealth Management.

“With these promotions, our members and associates can be confident that the Credit Union’s leadership is well-poised to lead them into the future,” Decello concluded.
