Bridgewater Credit Union hosts community shred day
The event was held at the credit union’s Fairhaven branch
FAIRHAVEN, MA (November 5, 2024) — On Saturday, Nov. 2, Bridgewater Credit Union, a division of Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU), hosted a community Shred Day at its Fairhaven branch.
Members of the credit union and community at large brought sensitive, outdated documents to be shredded. Proper disposal of documents, such as shredding, is imperative to protecting private personal information from identity thieves. Shredding is the safest way to dispose of documents containing a signature, account number, social security number or medical or legal information that is no longer necessary to retain.
“Shred Days give members an opportunity to securely dispose of their personal information and give our team an opportunity to connect with them outside of the usual financial services we offer,” says MVCU’s Vice President of Retail Banking, Jim Potter. “My colleagues and I had a fantastic day greeting community members. We look forward to continuing these Shred Days at more of our branches.”
