Bobby Hall Receives State’s Highest Credit Union Honor

RALEIGH, NC (June 25, 2013) During an awards ceremony held at the NC Credit Union League Annual Meeting, former State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Senior Executive Vice President Robert (Bobby) S. Hall was presented the Larry Johnson Order of Merit Lifetime Achievement Award by his credit union peers.  The Award celebrates Hall’s lifelong career of distinguished service, leadership, and commitment to SECU, its members, and the credit union movement.

The Larry Johnson Order of Merit Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have dedicated their careers to promoting the credit union philosophy, and whose leadership to North Carolina credit unions and related organizations has sustained through their career.  The Award is the State’s highest credit union honor bestowed to an individual.

During his 43+ year SECU career, Bobby Hall’s influence, vision, and compassionate leadership greatly contributed to the cooperatives’ growth and success, leading the expansion of SECU’s branch network to nearly 250 locations, with a presence in all 100 North Carolina counties.  Hall’s service to the Credit Union mission extended beyond the doors of SECU, with leadership roles at the state and national levels.

Larry Johnson, retired President of the NC Credit Union League, for whom the award is named, presented Mr. Hall’s award.  “I have personally known and worked with Mr. Hall for over thirty years, and I know him as an individual that has dedicated his life to promoting the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People,’” states Larry Johnson.  “Through his multi-faceted service to the State’s credit unions and his community, Mr. Hall has demonstrated himself to be a trusted advisor, one with clear vision and strategic goals.”
