Baylor Health Care System Credit Union has named Andy Reed as its new president/CEO effective Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Credit Union Resources conducted the executive search for the $75 million credit union.
Reed’s credit union experience and expertise will be a valuable asset to Baylor Health Care System CU. His passion for strategic leadership, lending, marketing, and technology will help Baylor Health Care System CU continue to provide exceptional service to its members.
Reed comes to Baylor Health Care System CU from Texas People Federal Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas, where he served as president and chief executive officer. He was responsible for the overall strategic management of the credit union. At Texas People, Reed returned the credit union to profitability in his first year of tenure by increasing income by 5.1 percent and reducing expenses by 11.5 percent.
Prior to working at Texas People FCU, Reed was the manager, business development at American Airlines Federal Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, Reed was responsible for leading and mentoring a team of 11 business development representatives that conducted over 1,000 business-to-business sales calls and member sign-up events annually, achieving between 120 and 250 percent of their annual goal for four consecutive years.
Reed holds an MBA and a bachelor of business administration from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Additionally, Reed will be graduating from the Southwest CUNA Management School in July and holds a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) license, a Credit Union Business Development Professional (CUBPD) license, is a Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS), and a Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE).
Reed is actively involved in the community and has volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish Foundation, Purple Heart Homes, the Tarrant Area Food Bank, Children’s Miracle Network, and many other organizations.
