Back-to-back CUNA Financial Management eSchools begin in August

CUNA is offering two online training events, the 2017 CUNA Financial Management eSchools, that provide an in-depth education on credit union financial management. The Essentials eSchool will be held Thursdays, Aug. 24-Oct. 12 while the Advanced eSchool will be held Thursdays, Oct. 19-Dec. 14.

“Financial management is ultimately about decision-making, and the key to good decision-making is being knowledgeable,” said Amanda Schumacher, CUNA instructional design manager. “Professionals who complete these two eSchools will have the broad, deep base of financial knowledge they need to optimize their assets and strengthen their credit union’s financial position.”

CUNA Financial Management Essentials eSchool provides a foundational overview of financial concepts and practices, including ratios, asset-liability management (ALM), balance sheets and investments. The CUNA Financial Management Advanced eSchool develops this foundation by offering deeper insight into these topics, while also covering the various forms of financial risk credit unions face.

Each eSchool consists of eight live sessions. Leading these sessions are two experts in credit union finance: Tim Gardner, sales executive, CUNA Mutual Group; and Brian Smith-Vandergriff, partner, Financial Management Services, Inc. (FSMI).

Registration is open for both events. To sign up, please visit cuna.org/finance.
