Aurora FCU names Charlie Watts as President and CEO

Following a nationwide search, Aurora Federal Credit Union ($129.2M Total Assets, 7,634 Members) is pleased to announce that Charlie Watts has been named its next President and CEO.

“The Board of Directors is very excited to welcome Charlie to Aurora Federal Credit Union as our next President and CEO. Charlie brings more than 16 years of industry experience and a wealth of knowledge to our credit union. Charlie is passionate about providing excellent service and value to our members, and we look forward to the continued success and growth of our credit union under his leadership,” said Mark Stephenson, Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Watts most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Colorado Credit Union for the past eight years. During his time at Colorado Credit Union, he helped grow the organization from $118 million in assets in 2013 to almost $300 million today. Previously, Watts was Sales and Marketing Manager for SunCorp Corporate CU prior to its merger with Alloya Corporate FCU.

Watts holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Finance from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance from the University of Colorado. Watts is also a graduate of the Western CUNA Management School (WCMS) at Pomona College in Claremont, Calif.

Watts will officially start his new role with Aurora FCU on January 1, 2022.
