Ashley Kohlrus named a 2018 Women in Business honoree

Ashley Kohlrus, chief operations officer at Allegacy Federal Credit Union, has been recognized as an honoree in The Business Journal’s 19th annual Women in Business awards program.

The Business Journal recognized 24 business leaders in the Triad for their outstanding contributions to their profession, employers and community. Kohlrus has been with Allegacy since 2004 and has accountability for Allegacy’s 15 financial centers, eight student-run credit unions, call center, private banking, deposit operations, digital banking, product management, strategic planning, and member and community development.

“Ashley is dedicated to our mission of helping our members be their best at every step of life,” said Cathy Pace, Allegacy President and CEO. “This award is a well-deserved honor for her as she constantly goes above and beyond at Allegacy, and in her passion for improving the overall health and wellbeing of those who live and work in our community.”

Kohlrus is active in the Triad community where she serves on several boards and councils including Komen Northwest North Carolina, Center for Smart Financial Choices, Allegacy Benefit Solutions, YMCA of Northwest North Carolina Association, Hospice Foundation Board, and the Credit Union Executives Society Carolinas Council Chair.

Kohlrus received her undergraduate degree in Speech Communications from East Tennessee State University and her master’s degree in Leadership and Organizational Change from Pfeiffer University. Ashley holds designations and certifications with the Credit Union Executive Society Certified Chief Executive (CCE), Certified Innovation Executive (CIE)the Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), and in Global Customer Experience Management.

Nominations were solicited from across the Triad by The Business Journal and through a range of partnerships with business organizations. A panel of judges reviewed each application, evaluated the nominations and selected the honorees. Judges considered nominees’ performance in their job, their stature in their industry and their engagement in their community in selecting the honorees.
