Ascentra donates $75,000 to QC Community Foundation’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence

BETTENDORF, IA (October 9, 2024) — Ascentra Credit Union has committed to giving $75,000 to the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s (QCCF) Center for Nonprofit Excellence over the next three years.

The center is dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit sector of the Quad Cities as a connector, capacity builder and champion for regional nonprofits and philanthropy. Its dedication will build and reinforce the systems, structures, cultures, skills, resources and power needed to serve the community with excellence. Through this, the QCCF will align and increase access to new opportunities – individually and collectively.

“The Quad Cities community is filled with committed organizations dedicated to making a difference,” said Linda Andry, President and CEO, Ascentra Credit Union. “Ascentra is excited to support this Center for Nonprofit Excellence because it will lift local nonprofits to the next level by playing a central role to connect them through networking and learning groups, to provide resources to grow and give the needed support to enhance the nonprofit sector for the Quad Cities community.”

This Center will be led by Director Daisy Moran and an administrative assistant. She will report to the Vice President of Grantmaking and Community Initiatives, who will be deeply involved in the development and work of the center.

“With this incredible gift, Ascentra is lifting the entire nonprofit sector,” said Sue Hafkemeyer, President and CEO, Quad Cities Community Foundation. “The Community Foundation’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence helps nonprofit organizations grow and serve the community in the best way possible. Thanks to this genuinely transformative contribution, the Center will be able to expand our workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities and bring more nonprofits into this collaborative program.”

The center is guided by an advisory committee made up of leaders from the nonprofit and philanthropic organizations that it serves. For more information about the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, its mission and the advisory committee, visit qccommunityfoundation.org/centerfornonprofitexcellence.
