Today, Philadelphia-based Ardent Credit Union (ACU) announced two experienced community leaders will join the credit union’s Board and Supervisory Committee. The Board is proud to welcome Micah Knapp as its newest Board Member and Mitul Shah as the newest Supervisory Committee Member.
Knapp brings extensive leadership skills and business and legal experience to the board. He is Managing Director of Middle Market & Sales at Altus Corporate Risk in Bryn Mawr. Knapp leads the firm’s middle market account management and business development teams, and overseas their design and management of clients’ complex property and casualty insurance programs.
“I’m excited to join the Board,” Knapp said. “I love Ardent’s personality, strong financial foundation and energized leadership. Ardent reflects what I see in modern Philly - independence, intelligence, hustle and optimism.”
Knapp is a life-long Philadelphian, who currently lives with his wife and two young children on the border between the Delaware County communities of Nether Providence and Rose Valley. He serves on the board of the Rose Valley Swim & Tennis Club and as Vice President of Nether Providence Township Board of Commissioners.
“We are very pleased to have Micah join our Board,” said Rob Werner, President and CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “Both his professional background and deep involvement in the local community will prove to be a tremendous asset for our growing organization.”
Shah is an Assistant General Counsel at GlaxoSmithKline, where he leads the negotiation, drafting and structuring of business development transactions. Shah has more than 17 years of experience practicing law for large firms and corporations and has advised executives across different industries on corporate topics, such as organizational formation and governance.
“I am very much looking forward to working with an organization that shares so many of my values,” Shah said. “Ardent has clearly demonstrated a dedication and passion for helping its community, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with Ardent to build on its reputation for serving and protecting its members.”
“Mitul is a strategic thinker and effective communicator, and we look forward to having his perspective on future initiatives,” said Werner. “With our expansion into new markets and launching new products and services, both Mitul and Micah will prove to be great advisors for Ardent.”
