Annual Silent Auction Raises over $20,000 for Affinity Plus Foundation

Affinity Plus Foundation celebrates record breaking auction fundraiser

ST. PAUL, MINN. (Nov. 30, 2012) – The Affinity Plus Foundation hosted its 12th Annual Silent Auction Nov. 9-13, and raised more than $20,000. The money raised will be used to help the Foundation achieve its mission of bettering the quality of life through financial literacy education, including awarding the Affinity Plus Foundation Scholarship, for people across the state.

Affinity Plus received more than $40,000 worth of items donated from local businesses and organizations including iPads and other electronics, games tickets, spa certificates, vacation packages and more.

“The Silent Auction is always one of the highlights for the Foundation each year! The 2012 auction was a huge success as we surpassed our goal of raising $20,000 and saw a 22% increase in money raised over last year. The support of our vendors, partners and the community for the auction is remarkable.  However, I really want to sincerely thank our 450 employees who work so hard each year to put this together. Their effort with the baskets and creating awareness for the auction is truly incredible,” states Dave Larson, executive director of the Affinity Plus Foundation.

The Affinity Plus Foundation is committed to improving the lives of people by providing financial literacy education so that they may learn how to manage their money before debt becomes a problem. The Foundation is funded by the ongoing support of members, employees, vendors and partners. In addition to the Silent Auction, an annual Fishing Tournament is held each summer.
