American Heritage Credit Union invites community to 17th annual free Grand Illumination display & events

Event Features More than 400,000 Lights and Two 40-foot Trees; Kids-N-Hope Foundation Donations, and Free Holiday Music

PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 4, 2024) — Nothing shines like American Heritage Credit Union  (American Heritage) throughout the holiday season. American Heritage invites the community to visit its main campus at 2060 Red Lion Road in Northeast Philadelphia to enjoy more than 400,000 lights and  holiday displays.

Each year, the American Heritage campus buildings and trees are illuminated, and multiple light  displays are featured throughout the campus grounds. Community members are welcome to stroll the  campus, take photos, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season. The Grand Illumination  celebration kicks off with a special event on the evening of Saturday, November 30 at 7:00 PM.

Grand Illumination Kick-Off Event

The free 17th annual Grand Illumination event supports the Kids-N-Hope Foundation and will be held  on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 7:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy the sounds of the holiday season  with a concert featuring the Philadelphia Boys Choir, with the evening capping off with a firework  symphony immediately following the illumination.

We’re also excited to have The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and the Delaware  Tribe of Indians join us for Grand Illumination this year. Comprised of 69 members, The Corps brings  together 10-hole fifes, handmade rope-tensioned drums, and two-valve bugles. As an official  representative of the U.S. Army, the Corps averages over 500 performances annually. The Corps has  entertained millions of people in major parades, pageants and historical celebrations throughout the  United States, and has served America as a goodwill ambassador as far away as Europe, Australia, and  Canada. In support of the President of the United States, the Corps performs at armed forces arrival  ceremonies for visiting dignitaries and heads of state at the White House and has participated in every  presidential inaugural parade since President John F. Kennedy’s in 1961.

The Delaware Tribe of Indians, known as being amongst the first tribes to encounter the Europeans in  the early 1600s and broker peace with new settlers and rival tribes, will put forth a demonstration in the  evening’s festivities. The Delaware Tribe is commonly known as the ‘Grandfather’ tribe, due to their  reputation for being peacemakers. Small contingents of the Delaware Tribe today reside in two reserves  located in Ontario.

At the event, the Kids-N-Hope Foundation will present its annual donation to Children’s Hospital of  Philadelphia. In the spirit of giving, attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to help  American Heritage reach its goal of 20,000 pounds for its annual Spirit of Giving holiday food drive.

Free Month-Long Grand Illumination

Our Grand Illumination features more than 400,000 lights, two 40-foot illuminated trees, and hundreds  of illuminated wreaths and decorations. All community members are welcome to visit the American  Heritage Red Lion Road campus between December 1 until New Year’s Day to enjoy the decorations and take family photos. You can enter through our Red Lion Road or Jamison Road entrances. Free  parking is available on site and our lights will shine daily beginning at dusk each night starting on  November 30.

“Grand Illumination has been a long-standing tradition here in our community, and each year we look  forward to the joy it brings to families in the Philadelphia area, and the support that it provides for the  Kids-N-Hope Foundation,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO of American Heritage Credit

Union and Chairman of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation. “We can’t wait to see everyone there to celebrate  the start of the holiday season!”
