TAWAS, MI (July 1, 2013) Through the hard work and dedication of its employees and the generosity of its membership, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union was able to raise $159.03 in monetary donations for FISH, Inc.
This volunteer based program, formed by a group of Christians from local churches, helps the community by providing food, gas, shelter, transportation or referring them to other organizations in emergency situations.
The Tawas branch of Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union, located 118 W. M-55, accepted monetary donations from its members. They sold candy bars and held a gardening and home improvement raffle. Along with the member donations, staff members were able to donate $2.00 on Fridays to dress down in jeans.
Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union employees select four community or charity organizations that they would like to raise funds and/or accept donations for during each quarter of the year. During the 2nd quarter of 2013, the staff of the Tawas Branch chose to focus their efforts on FISH, Inc.
