ALM First welcomes Juan Arreola as Director, Hedging & Hedge Accounting

ALM First, a strategic partner for more than 300 financial institutions nationwide, is expanding its hedging team to increase the firm’s hedge accounting capabilities. Juan Arreola, CPA, a financial professional with more than 15 years of experience, recently joined the firm as Director, Hedging & Hedge Accounting.

“We’re excited to welcome Juan to the team,” says Alec Hollis, CFA, Managing Director, ALM Strategy Group. “In this new role, he will be an integral part of expanding our hedge accounting capabilities and continuing to provide comprehensive hedging and derivative advisory services.”

Arreola brings a wealth of expertise to ALM First. Previously, he served as Senior Manager, Risk Advisory for Hedge Trackers and as Chatham Financial's IFRS Hedge Accounting leader for North America, Latin America, Asia and Oceania. Arreola has also held various financial accounting positions at EY, Morgan Stanley and spent time in corporate finance.

Arreola earned his Master of Accountancy & Financial Management along with his Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of San Diego. During a sabbatical, he planned and executed a trekking and climbing expedition of four major regions of the Himalaya. As part of this expedition, he successfully climbed to the North Col of Mt. Everest via the northern route in Tibet. He also climbed Mont Blanc, the highest point in Europe.
