St. Louis, MO (April 28, 2025) |
Tracy Verner, Community Development Manager at Alltru Credit Union, was recently honored in the U.S. House of Representatives for her leadership in advancing equity and financial inclusion in Missouri’s First District. Former U.S. Representative Cori Bush recognized Verner for her meaningful contributions to the St. Louis community, particularly her efforts to expand banking accessibility and help promote long-term financial stability.
“Tracy’s work within the banking system has focused on increasing access to financial tools that are essential for building generational wealth,” Bush said. “She has been a champion for those who have been historically excluded and marginalized, developing innovative programs that serve those with the greatest need in our community.”
Bush continued, “Tracy’s service has had a profound and lasting impact on Missouri’s First District. Her unwavering commitment to equity, economic empowerment, and justice has transformed countless lives. As we honor her achievements, let us also carry forward her vision of a community where no one is left behind, and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Tracy’s legacy is a reminder that meaningful change is possible when we dedicate ourselves to uplifting others, and we are forever grateful for her extraordinary contributions.”
Missouri's First District encompasses St. Louis City and much of northern St. Louis County. Alltru Credit Union, a Certified Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in the St. Louis area, is dedicated to providing financial accessibility and literacy to historically marginalized and underserved communities.
Verner has been a driving force in advancing financial empowerment throughout the St. Louis region, playing a key role in impactful initiatives such as the St. Louis Office of Financial Empowerment’s College Kids program and STL Youth Jobs. Through these partnerships, she has helped expand access to financial education and savings opportunities for young people, creating long-term, positive change in the lives of St. Louis youth.
In addition to her work with youth programs, Verner is a champion for financial wellness across the broader community. She leads outreach efforts to small businesses throughout the Greater St. Louis area, introducing free financial tools and resources that employers can offer to their employees. These initiatives not only support individual financial growth but also contribute to the overall economic health of the region.
“Tracy’s honor is well-deserved for her work impacting our members and community,” said Laura Woods, Vice President of Brand and Product Strategy at Alltru Credit Union. “Tracy is an extraordinary individual who carries out our mission to everyone she serves. Tracy’s resilience and advocacy have empowered many in our community to achieve financial success. We are extremely proud of Tracy and her work to improve the lives of all in St. Louis.”
