St. Louis, MO (April 18, 2025) |
Alltru Credit Union, a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving the Greater St. Louis area, hosted a free Shred Day community event on Saturday, April 12 at their Wentzville and Hazelwood branches. This year, Alltru broke their record for the number of pounds of documents shredded, totaling over 26,200 pounds between the two branches.
Alltru collaborated with the local The Shred Truck to provide Alltru members and the community with the opportunity to shred personal documents. To meet the growing needs of members, one truck was positioned at the Wentzville branch and two trucks were positioned at the Hazelwood branch. Hundreds of people brought items to be shredded across the two locations.
”As identity theft continues to rise, we’re proud to help safeguard our members and the community with protective services like this,” said Laura Woods, Vice President of Brand and Product Strategy at Alltru Credit Union. “Improperly discarding documents that contain personal information can lead to serious, even life-altering consequences if they fall into the wrong hands. We understand how essential identity and financial security are to our community’s well-being. Events like Shred Day not only help protect sensitive information but also raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding your identity.”
Alltru is dedicated to the financial well-being of their members and the community, including educating both about the importance of identity theft protection. For more information about Alltru Credit Union, visit https://alltrucu.org/.
