Air Force Federal Credit Union Completes Merger with Peoples Choice of San Antonio Federal Credit Union

SAN ANTONIO—Air Force Federal Credit Union (Air Force FCU) and Peoples Choice of San Antonio Federal Credit Union (PCSA) announce the official merger between the two financial organizations, effective December 15, 2012. Air Force FCU will be the primary credit union, and President/CEO Robert “Bob” Glenn will continue to head the organization.

The merger will create a stronger financial cooperative, as well as provide expanded service to members in San Antonio and around the world.  As part of the agreement, the PCSA field of membership will be incorporated into the Air Force FCU charter.

“In my opinion, this was a very good move, a timely move for the two organizations to merge,” said PSCA board chairman Halbert Brown. “I know it was the perfect thing to do, especially for the younger ones [members] that are going to continue with the organization. It’s only going to get better for them. There will be more services for them and I think, overall, it was a very, very good idea to go ahead and merge.”

The merger will provide PCSA members a full-service financial institution with a complete array of products—from checking to savings to loan products—and will include access to eight branches in San Antonio. They will be able to utilize the CO-OP ATM network, giving them access to nearly 30,000 ATMs across the country with no surcharge fee, and the shared branching network with 6,800 branches worldwide. Additional services include a 24|7|365 call center, online baking and a mobile app, that will allow members to access their accounts anywhere, anytime.

“This is an exciting time and a positive move for both organizations,” said Bob Glenn. “The merger provides increased services and products to our new members, and the new membership group will strengthen the credit union. The membership has embraced us. We look forward to providing the same excellent service to them that we have provided to our members for 60 years.”
