ST. PAUL, MINN. (Jan. 28, 2013) – Affinity Plus is excited to announce their acquisition of Oak Trust Credit Union’s Minnesota operations based in Eagan. Oak Trust is an Illinois based credit union with a membership of 8,900 members and $67 million in assets. Oak Trust has two branch locations, one in Villa Park, IL, and one in Eagan, MN. Affinity Plus will acquire the Eagan branch which currently serves more than 4,300 members. The transaction is expected to close on June 30, 2013.
The acquisition will give Affinity Plus the opportunity to offer Oak Trust members a broad range of financial services and convenient branch locations, and better serve existing members located in the South metro. Affinity Plus is owned by more than 160,000 members throughout Minnesota and has more than $1.6 billion in Minnesota assets. Affinity Plus has 26 branch locations which includes eight metro locations.
“The purchase of our Minnesota branch by Affinity Plus will benefit Oak Trust members tremendously,” comments President and CEO of Oak Trust, Jim Dean. “We want to give our members personalized service and more locations, and we are confident Affinity Plus will provide this opportunity for them. They have a strong mission, and we believe it is a natural fit for our members.”
Since 2010, Affinity Plus has added three new branch locations in Bemidji, Coon Rapids, and Hastings. In addition, they have relocated their Alexandria and Roseville branches in 2012 into larger facilities to better serve the growing number of members in these areas. Driven by their mission, “Not for profit, for people,” Affinity Plus contributes their growth to dedicated members and employees who enjoy receiving and providing a personalized banking experience whether it takes place in a branch, over the phone, or online.
“We are proud to announce our acquisition of Oak Trust. It will allow Affinity Plus the opportunity to serve new members and provide convenience for members located in the South metro,” comments President and CEO, Kyle L. Markland. “We are honored Oak Trust selected Affinity Plus to serve their membership and we are dedicated to making the acquisition go as smoothly as possible.”
Oak Trust Credit Union members will continue to use Oak Trust products and services until Affinity Plus has received Oak Trust member and regulatory approval to assume their memberships and account information.
