Affinity Federal Credit Union Now Offers Mobile Deposit
Credit Union Steps Up Mobile Technology Game
Basking Ridge, NJ (Thursday, January 3, 2013) – NJ’s largest credit union, Affinity Federal Credit Union in Basking Ridge, is now among the first credit unions to offer mobile deposit to their members. This feature allows members to use their phone’s camera to take a picture of the front and back of their check and make a deposit.
“We’re extremely excited to offer this convenient service to our members,” noted Donna LoStocco, senior vice president, member services, Affinity Federal Credit Union. “Not only are we on the cutting edge for the credit union industry, but only a select few banks offer this feature.
“Affinity currently offers members the ability to bank via their mobile phone using our Mobile Banking App, Mobile Web and Text Message banking. We have now enhanced our Mobile App with the introduction of Mobile Deposit.”
Affinity Mobile Deposit is available via Affinity’s mobile banking app for Android phones and iPhone.
According to the Pew Internet and American Life Report nearly half (46%) of American adults are smartphone owners as of February 2012, an increase of 11 percentage points over the 35% of Americans who owned a smartphone last May.
“As more and more of our members rely on their smart phones for every days tasks like gathering news, getting directions, making reservations, etc., it’s only natural for them to want to handle their finances ‘on the go,’” noted LoStocco. “In keeping with our commitment to offer our members the best service possible, we’re delighted to make this feature available to them.”
