ACUM honors 2024 HERSTORY inductees

MANCHESTER, NH (October 2, 2024) — America’s Credit Union Museum (ACUM) honored the 2024 inductees to the exhibit “Credit Union Women Making History: Herstory” earlier today. This induction notes the third annual event honoring amazing women making a difference in the credit union industry. The event and exhibit are sponsored in part by Cooperative Credit Union Association, the Illinois Credit Union League/Envisant, and Velera.

Inductees honored this year included:

  • Donna Bland, President/CEO, Golden 1 Credit Union, CA
  • Crystal Long, President/CEO, GECU, TX
  • Judy McCartney, Retired President & CEO, Orange County’s Credit Union, CA
  • Tansley Stearns, President/CEO, Community Financial Credit Union, MI
  • Joanne Todd, President, Northeast Family Federal Credit Union, CT
  • Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, Retired President & CEO, Travis Credit Union, CA
  • Caroline Willard, President/CEO, Cornerstone League, TX, OK, AR, KS, MO

“It was an honor to preside over this momentous ceremony,” said newly elected ACUM Board Member, Susan Mitchell. “These women are visionaries of the credit union movement and truly deserve recognition and celebration.”

The induction ceremony was held in person at America’s Credit Union Museum. It was also live streamed thanks to a sponsorship from Georgia United Credit Union. Over 80 attendees came together in person to celebrate these powerful women of the movement.

“We are proud to honor these seven inductees for their leadership, dedication, and impact within the credit union movement.” said Kristi Arrington, ACUM Board Chair and Vice President of Growth by Design. “This event stands as a testament to the powerful role women play in driving innovation and fostering community in credit unions across the country.”
