$372,000 granted to nonprofits through 2024 Numerica Charitable Fund

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (June 7, 2024) — With grants for 21 regional nonprofits, Numerica Credit Union distributed more than $372,000 through the 2024 Numerica Charitable Fund. This annual program partners with organizations that align with the credit union’s philanthropic initiative, Numerica CARES for Kids.

“Numerica CARES for Kids is dedicated to uplifting children and families,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica president and CEO. “We are proud to support and walk alongside these nonprofits who are providing vital services day in and day out to those in need. Numerica’s Charitable Fund is committed to fostering positive change and making a meaningful difference in our community.”

The 11 Spokane Numerica Charitable Fund recipients include:

  • Big Table
  • Communities In Schools of Spokane County
  • Family Promise
  • Joya Child & Family Development
  • Second Harvest Inland Northwest
  • Transitions
  • Vanessa Behan
  • Volunteers of America Spokane
  • Wellpinit Boys & Girls Club
  • Women & Children’s Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen
  • YMCA of the Inland Northwest

Family Promise was one of four nonprofits in its second year of $100,000 multi-year grants. Regionally, this also includes:

  • Safe Passage, North Idaho
  • Women’s Resource Center of North Central Washington, Wenatchee
  • Communities In Schools of Benton-Franklin, Tri-Cities

Numerica team members surprised the nonprofits with customized cakes revealing the amount the organization was granted. The funds will be used to provide housing, meals, education and more.

“You can imagine how thrilled we are to have our friends at Numerica by our side to make sure that children and their families have the food they need,” said Jason Clark, Second Harvest CEO. “Numerica is such a shining example of the good in the world, supporting not just Second Harvest but also other amazing nonprofits. We’re so grateful for Numerica’s kindness and can’t wait to see the positive impact we’ll make together.”

The Numerica Charitable Fund is funded by Numerica members through Skip a Pay, a voluntary program available on some loans. Members are allowed to bypass a monthly loan payment once every six months for a $30 fee, which is contributed to the fund to support community nonprofits.
