The 2017 CUNA IRA eSchool will be offered to credit unions via six sessions June 12-28. Created in partnership with Ascensus, America’s largest independent retirement and college savings services provider, the program provides a foundational education in credit union individual retirement accounts (IRAs) through six expert-led webinar sessions.
“When a member opens an IRA at your credit union, they’re putting their future in your hands,” said Michelle Johnson, instructional design, products & services manager. “We owe it to our members to manage their IRAs in a smart, serious and compliant fashion. The knowledge CUNA IRA eSchool provides will enable tellers, frontline staff and anyone else who works with these accounts to do just that.”
The six 90-minute sessions that comprise CUNA IRA eSchool range in focus from basic topics and terminology to advanced topics such as contributions, distributions and portability. Traditional and Roth IRAs are both covered in-depth by the program, which primarily offers practical guidance and how-to’s on key processes.
