2013 CUNA Annual Report released
MADISON, WI (July 15, 2014) — CUNA is pleased to announce the release of its 2013 CUNA Annual Report, detailing the outcomes of the national trade association’s efforts, products, programs and initiatives throughout the year. The report is now available for access at cuna.org/annualreport.
“Last year turned out to be an outstanding one for the credit union movement, as we laid the groundwork to protect our tax exemption, delineated a vision for the future, and worked to reduce the regulatory burden,” commented Bill Hampel, interim president and CEO of CUNA. “This report neatly outlines the efforts that the three-tier system of CUNA, leagues and credit unions took together to realize these results, and build for the future.”
According to the report, 2013 brought the success of numerous national CUNA initiatives, including the ‘Don’t Tax My Credit Union’ campaign to protect credit unions’ tax exemption and the ongoing Unite for Good initiative to further establish credit unions as Americans’ best financial partner.
In February, more than 4,000 credit union leaders attended CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C., making the premier grassroots event one of the most talked about of the year. CUNA Councils also had a record year for participation, as membership in the six groups rose to a record-setting 5,860 – more than 2,300 of whom attended Council meetings during the year.
More than 382,000 courses and exams were completed on CUNA’s online learning portal, CUNA CPDOnline, over the course of the year. Additionally, more than 9,900 professionals took advantage of opportunities to network and learn from their peers during on-site CUNA events.
