1st United continues to support the Alameda County Community Food Bank

Our continued partnership strengthens our commitment to the community

PLEASANTON, CA (March 14, 2025) |

1st United Credit Union is proud to be the Official Donation Location of the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) for the third consecutive year. Credit Union members and the community can continue to drop off food donations at any 1st United branch.

“Our members care about their neighbors and recognize 1st United’s commitment to supporting their community. The convenience of the food barrels in our branches makes it easy to donate,” says Steve Stone, Chief Executive Officer at 1st United Credit Union. “We collected 22,835 pounds of food and donated $10,000 to the food bank which will provide an estimated 39,000 meals for those in need. We thank all our staff, members, and the community for their support and hope to collect even more this year.”

According to ACCFB, the need for food continues to increase, with one in four residents experiencing food insecurity. Last year, the Food Bank distributed over 60 million pounds of food, which was the highest distribution in history. With the rising cost of living in the Bay Area, food banks are challenged to keep up with the need and are also facing budget cuts.

“This year, our Food Bank is commemorating our 40th year serving our neighbors facing food insecurity,” says Regi Young, executive director of Alameda County Community Food Bank. “As a food bank known for its history of innovation and boundary-pushing, it would be impossible for us to achieve what we have without such passionate and steadfast support. We’re deeply grateful to companies like 1st United Credit Union that ‘do it all’ to support our mission — from volunteering to financial support, to helping us build incredible county-wide visibility through its food drive partnership. It goes without saying that 1st United Credit Union is a consummate partner in hunger-relief.”
