Credit union officials met with Rep. Nikki Budzinski, D-Ill., at the Illinois Credit Union League’s Springfield office Monday.

“Attendees thanked Rep. Budzinski for her support of the credit union tax status, and discussed the important financial services that credit unions provide to the nearly 345,000 credit union members residing in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District,” said Keith Sias, senior vice president of Government Affairs at the Illinois Credit Union League. “We also shared the many credit union concerns over the proposed interchange bill, and our support for legislation to exempt loans made to veteran-owned businesses from the member business lending cap. Thank you to the Congresswoman, and to our credit unions who shared the importance of the credit union difference during a home district visit.”

Budzinski is in her first term in U.S. Congress, and visited with credit unions in January when CUNA welcomed new members to Congress. She is also co-sponsor of the CUNA and League-supported SAFE Banking Act.
