Federal agencies issue Hurricane Helene-related update on supervisory practices

The NCUA and other federal and state financial regulatory agencies issued a joint statement urging financial institutions to focus on the financial services needs of their communities, and outlining available regulatory assistance measures for financial institutions in response to Hurricane Helene.

The statement provides guidance on several needs and areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including:

  • Lending;
  • Temporary facilities;
  • Publishing requirements;
  • Regulatory reporting requirements; and
  • Investments

The agencies involved include NCUA, FDIC, the Federal Reserve Board, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and state financial regulators.
