FCNCCFCCU builds on momentum, wants community to know it is open for the community
Citing concerns that the community in which they’re located may not be aware that their credit union was indeed located there, and on the heels of their recent rebrand, First Community Neighbors’ Choice Community Federal Community Credit Union has decided to add a tagline explaining just that.
“Initially, we thought that putting the word Community in our name – three times, no less – would be enough to clue people in that we were, in fact, open for the community. Our market research shows, however, that some in our community still have no idea we are here and open for them,” said Marketing Director Gill Palmer.
“We want to take advantage of the publicity that came out of our rebrand effort and give our high-performing employees something they can be proud of. As hard as it may be for some within our organization and community to grasp, we are, in fact, open for the very community in which we do business. That’s the impetus behind our new tagline,” added CEO Ron King.
The new tagline? It reads simply: Open for the community that we are in!
“We think this new, bold tagline will really add some pizzazz to our brand,” Palmer added. “Especially since we added an exclamation point on the end!”
It seems that not all FCNCCFCCU employees quite understand, however.
“I always thought we were open for the community,” opined Jimmy Smartwell. “Were we not?”
“I guess I wonder who the community thought we were open for,” added Jade Erickson.
When informed of the apparent confusion within his own organization, King just chuckled and said, “They’re so cute at that age – all precocious, and full of wonderment.”
FCNCCFCCU has been taking steps lately to do what Palmer calls “redefining ourselves.” Asked if there was more to come from FCNCCFCCU, Palmer replied in the affirmative.
“Oh yes,” he said, grinning. “There’s much more to come. You’ve not heard the last of FCNCCFCCU.”
This is the third time in recent weeks that FCNCCFCCU has made headlines in the credit union industry, prompting King to proclaim that FCNCCFCCU is “changing the credit union world” and “reshaping” the financial services industry.
