Carrie Hunt named president of Virginia Credit Union League

Carrie Hunt, the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Union’s longtime executive vice president of government affairs and general counsel, has been selected to head the Virginia Credit Union League.

She succeeds Rick Pillow, who retires June 30.

“The search framework and process brought us a number of highly qualified candidates, but Carrie truly shined because she possesses an outstanding record of leadership, she is a respected and trusted advocate for credit unions, and she has a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing credit unions,” said Patsy Stuard, chairman of the Virginia Credit Union League Board of Directors and President/CEO of Fort Lee Federal Credit Union.

Before joining NAFCU, Hunt was the legal counsel for Massachusetts state Sen. Andrea Nuciforo, Jr., Senate chairman of the Joint Committee on Banks and Banking. Most recently she worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
