Walt Laskos, C.U.D.E., M. Div., is editor-in-chief of CUNA’s monthly flagship publication, Credit Union Magazine. He is a DE (Development Educator) with a background spanning more than a decade of service to credit unions and cooperatives, most recently as principal of The Laskos Group, a communications and public relations practice in Temecula, California, and as Director of Public Relations for the former Western Corporate Federal Credit Union in San Dimas, California.
Walt is best known for being the architect of Operation Best Wishes—an annual award-winning credit union campaign serving the military and their families; the host and producer of numerous educational videos, podcasts and Web-TV programs; and for being a frequent contributor to news blogs and discussions advancing the heritage of credit unions and their value as financial cooperatives.
He holds a B.A. from Siena College in Loudonville, New York, and a Master of Divinity from the Washington Theological Union in Silver Spring, Maryland. He and his wife, Deborah Genovesi reside in Madison, Wisconsin.
