Paul Mica is a founding Principal at The DMA Group, a full service business consultancy established in 2011. The DMA Group supports trade associations and businesses on everything from management and strategy, to government relations and communications. The firm has strong roots in the credit union movement and under Paul’s leadership its scope has expanded to include a variety of industries and issues including foreign affairs, technology, cyber, and education.

Paul’s experience in legislative and regulatory affairs consulting began in college, and since that time he has worked in intellectual property research, marketing, communications, and association management. Coming full circle with consulting he helped establish The DMA Group, where he applies his broad experience and skill set to his client work. With the firm he has assisted business and trade association executives develop their vision and implement organizational and cultural changes necessary to support their priorities and goals. He has worked with state and national credit union associations, individual credit unions as well as credit union technology and service vendors. While the foundation of The DMA Group’s services are government affairs and management consulting, the firm also provides expertise on communications, public relations, meeting facilitation, and executive coaching.
Paul was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Alexandria, VA where he still lives today. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and International Politics from George Mason University. Paul is a longtime endurance athlete and competitive cyclist.
