As the Director of Innovation at the Filene Research Institute, Matt Davis guides the prestigious i3 program to create new products, services, processes, and business models for credit unions. He is the author of several Filene publications, including Get in the Game: How Credit Unions Can Engage Members, Solve Problems, and Improve Skills with Game Thinking, Smart Score: Getting Credit Score and Related Education to Consumers, and Debt in Focus: Rethinking Financial Guidance. Matt cut his credit union teeth at the $250 million Members Credit Union in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and has spent the past nine years learning from, creating, inspiring, and implementing credit union innovation. He has been featured in Fast Company, Bloomberg Businessweek, Yahoo! Finance, Bankrate.com, and other national and international media. He was named one of the Triad Business Journal’s 40 Business Leaders Under 40 (NC), a member of Filene’s 30 Under 30 group, and the Credit Union Times’ Trailblazers 40 Below. Matt earned a BBA-Marketing from the College of William & Mary, and completed Basic Cadet Training at the United States Air Force Academy. He earned his CUDE designation from the National Credit Union Foundation in 2009. Matt lives in Madison, WI, with his wife and two sons.
