Mara Humphrey is a seasoned financial services advocate with more than 20 years of experience. As President and CEO of the Minnesota Credit Union Network, she is responsible for driving the growth and success of credit unions throughout the state. The Minnesota Credit Union Network provides crucial support to Minnesota credit unions, which collectively serve over 2.1 million members across more than 400 branch locations and hold nearly $39 billion in assets.

Prior to her current role, Humphrey served as the Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer for the Minnesota Credit Union Network. In this capacity, she oversaw advocacy efforts, compliance, communications, and professional development. Humphrey led key initiatives throughout her tenure, notably spearheading the creation of first-of-its-kind legislation that enabled financial institutions affected by data breaches to recover costs. She also led a coalition of financial institutions in the passage of legislation aimed at preventing the exploitation of older and vulnerable adults.
Humphrey played a pivotal role in establishing the Minnesota Credit Union Women’s Leadership Network, a sister society of the World Council of Credit Unions’ Global Women’s Leadership Network. In addition, she serves on the State Issues Committee for the American Association of Credit Union Leagues.
In addition to her professional achievements, Humphrey is an enthusiastic advocate for community involvement. She is currently serving as President of the St. Paul Regional Water Board of Water Commissioners and has previously held elected office on the Ramsey County Soil and Water Conservation District Board from 2008 to 2018.
