JiJi Bahhur, Esq., NCCO was named director of compliance in October 2013. Bahhur heads NAFCU’s multi-faceted compliance assistance program, which provides direct assistance to member credit unions, blog postings, detailed publications, comprehensive trainings, and all related efforts to assist member credit unions with their compliance responsibilities. She also oversees all of NAFCU’s compliance-related products and services, including the Credit Union Compliance GPS and online training for board and new staff members.
Bahhur began her career at NAFCU in November 2011 as regulatory compliance counsel.
Prior to joining NAFCU, Bahhur served nearly three years as In-House Counsel/Director of Compliance for Washington Gas Light Federal Credit Union. Before that, she interned for small and medium-sized law firms while in law school.
Bahhur is a graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Michigan State Bar, and the American Bar Association.
