Ms. Heather Moshier began her banking career in 1982 as an accountant with Kearny Mesa Federal Credit Union (KMFCU), a locally based credit union. During her tenure with KMFCU, she became interested in the information technology field and decided to make a career change. Ms. Moshier was responsible for converting the credit union’s computer operations from an online computer system with two computers, to their first in-house system where all staff received computers. She attended computer systems training at User’s Incorporated. Ms. Moshier held the position of Computer Operations Manager. Several years later, Ms. Moshier was responsible for another systems conversion. She converted KMFCU’s computer operations from Users to Symitar, which is the software platform SDCCU® uses today. Ms. Moshier was known for implementing system efficiencies and streamlining operations. Over the years, Ms. Moshier was promoted to Vice President and assumed responsibilities for additional areas including Marketing and Human Resources. ...
In 1995, Ms. Moshier was recruited by San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) and was hired as the VP of Information Technology. After two years, she was promoted to her current position as Executive Vice President of Information Technology. Under Ms. Moshier’s leadership, the Information Technology Department received the “Department Extraordinaire Award” during the first year of her employment. Over the 15+ years of her tenure at SDCCU, her areas of responsibilities have included: Information Technology, IT Security, eCommerce, Disaster Recovery, Imaging, Item Processing, Information Center and Training. Ms. Moshier is responsible for SDCCU’s Member Information Security Program. SDCCU has state-of-the-art technologies in place and is very operationally efficient.
Ms. Moshier has a strong passion for the credit union industry. She has been very involved in the industry and its movement. She currently serves on the Symitar Advisory Board, Fiserv’s Technical Advisory Board and is Chair of the CUNA Technology Council. Ms. Moshier was also the founder of the Southern California Symitar User’s Group. She has been a past participant of the Digital Insight Advisory Board and a member of the Credit Union Information Security Professional Association (CUISPA). Ms. Moshier was an honoree in the 2012 Top Tech Exec Awards, presented by San Diego Magazine and selected as an SDBJ IT Executive of The Year. Ms. Moshier graduated from National University with an emphasis in Management Information Systems.
