Brett A. Thompson has been President & CEO of The Wisconsin Credit Union League since 2001. In that role, he oversees The League’s advocacy, compliance, development, and educational operations as well as its services corporation. ...
Brett currently serves as Board Chair of the Credit Union House in DC and serves on the boards of the National Credit Union Foundation, the Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation, Wisconsin Credit Union Shared Service Centers, and Reach Business Lenders®. Having been appointed by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, he also serves on the Governor’s Council for Financial Literacy and Capability.
During his tenure at The League, he has served on the Board of Directors of Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and its Executive, Corporate Governance, and Government Affairs Committees. He has also served on the boards of CUNA Strategic Services, Co-op Shared Branching, and the Filene Research Institute. He is a past Chair of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL).
Prior to joining The League, Brett was in the private practice of law in Madison. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and its law school.
