Bob joined Agility in 2004 after the company was sold by General Electric, and began a revolutionary transformation of the 15 year old company, essentially turning the business continuity/disaster recovery industry upside down. Bob and his fellow leaders believed Agility’s services shouldn’t only be accessible to the world’s largest organizations. Small and medium-sized businesses fuel the American economy, and were woefully unprepared for disasters, and certainly didn’t have the means or systems in place to recover from interruptions.
Bob led the charge to institute a dramatic shift within Agility that would make the disaster recovery services Agility provides affordable for nearly any organization through a monthly membership fee-based business model. During Bob’s tenure, Agility’s membership base has grown over 2000%, and the company has performed thousands of recoveries, all with a 100% success rate. The company’s efforts have caught the attention of some of the largest and most respected national trade associations in the country, many of whom now endorse Agility’s solutions to their industry. In addition, Agility’s experience and approach to disaster recovery and business continuity has enabled them to partner with the Small Business Administration to co-produce a national campaign promoting preparedness to small and mid-sized businesses. The campaign has been promoted by the SBA, FEMA, the IRS, and the Red Cross, among other Non-Governmental Organizations.
When asked about what Agility does, Bob simply answers that “We work every day to constantly foster a business that has a soul, and an honest culture of genuine passion for rescuing people and organizations. By doing so, we know our members will be taken care of no matter what.”
Bob earned a B.S. from Davidson College and an MBA from the McColl School of Business. He lives in Charlotte with his wife and two sons.
