Alaska man donates to charity after robbing credit union branch

An Alaska man was apparently filled with the holiday spirit of giving after he robbed a credit union branch last week.

Michael Brian Jensen walked into the Anchorage branch of the $8 billion Alaska USA Federal Credit Union on Dec. 13, handed a note to a teller and stepped out with nearly $950, according to FBI investigators.

Jensen fled on foot and trekked to a nearby Walmart.

With the credit union funds, he spent $11 on cigarettes and a lighter, and $35 on a multi-colored stocking cap, a green vest and a black neck gaiter.

While he was leaving the store, security cameras recorded that “Jensen donated the change from the purchases to a charity organization outside the Walmart entrance,” according to a criminal complaint.
