Advocating for a better future together

As we approach the one-year mark of America’s Credit Unions, I find myself looking ahead with excitement. This organization is built to move the credit union movement forward with purpose, passion, and strength, and there’s lots to look forward to on the horizon.

We’re full steam ahead working to elect a credit union-friendly majority in the next Congress—a critical part of advancing our advocacy agenda next year.

In fact, I wrote in CUInsight this week that now is the time to put in the work to create the environment where credit unions thrive. Our advocacy today will translate to future policy changes that make people’s lives better, and it requires all of us working together.

With looming battles over tax reform, interchange, and more, having credit union champions in key positions is not only how we’ll start the year in a great position for upcoming policy battles. It’s how we’ll move priorities like field of membership modernization and additional member business lending flexibility forward.
