JetStream Financial Credit Union of Miami Lakes is once again making an impact in the community by hosting students from local schools as part of their 2024 Future Financial Professional Summer Intern Program. This four-week program combines the efforts of the Center for Financial Training, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, JetStream Federal Credit Union, and other institutions to bring knowledge and hands-on experience to high school students in the community. As part of the curriculum, students explore areas of knowledge such as professional skills, employability, financial products and services, banking, teller work, lending, and overall finances. In addition, students earn an ABA American Bankers Association certification. This year, JetStream hosted seven students from Barbara Goleman High School, William H. Turner Technical Arts High School, and Miami Lakes Educational Center.
As a longtime established financial service provider, JetStream Federal Credit Union prioritizes engagement with its members. Established in South Florida in 1948, JetStream has been a financial pillar for many in the community by meeting their banking and financial needs. “Operating as a federally not-for-profit chartered credit union, we offer products and services that others may overlook”, said CEO/President, Jeanne Kucey. The credit union prides itself on operating as a true community institution who offers its services exclusively to persons who live, work, business, worship or study in Miami-Dade County.
The credit union’s market outreach department offers Financial Tips and Training to schools and employees of local businesses in the South Florida area. These 45-minute, bilingual, no-cost, seminars provide practical financial training and knowledge.
