Oakland, CA (August 5, 2024) |
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital and long-time Credit Unions for Kids beneficiary, formally accepted a $5,000 donation at a check-presentation this afternoon — funds that will provide kids in the Oakland, CA community with quality medical care.
“We are profoundly grateful for this generous donation, which is a testament to the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues’ unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of our children,” said Anthony Candito, director of corporate partnerships for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. “This contribution not only allows us to continue providing exceptional care, but it also serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that we are not alone in our mission. Together, with the Leagues and the credit union movement, we are building a brighter future for every child who walks through our doors.”
The Leagues were recently selected as one of several winners of a $5,000 donation to any local CMN Hospital of the Leagues’ choice. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals was randomly selected from the pool of children’s hospitals in California and Nevada. The hospital is an outstanding organization, as its staff and leaders work toward medical miracles for children each year.
“It was an honor for the League to present this donation to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals,” said Amanda Merz, vice president of impact and development for the Leagues, who presented the $5,000 check to the hospital. “The Leagues’ long-standing commitment to supporting children's health is something we take immense pride in. Witnessing the incredible work being done here fills credit union leaders with a profound sense of purpose. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of these children.”
The donation and selection of the Leagues was part of an initiative launched to recognize state credit union leagues’ unwavering commitment to the Illinois Credit Union League’s (ICUL) annual #ILoveMyCreditUnion campaign. This includes active participation in monthly calls aimed at amplifying the credit union movement’s collective impact.
