Five Washington County small businesses win grants totaling $25,000 from InRoads Credit Union program

HILLSBORO, OR (May 31, 2024) |

Yesterday, on behalf of InRoads Credit Union, Nathan Cox, President/CEO, awarded five small businesses a total of $25,000 in grants at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting. In partnership with Fiserv and the chamber, InRoads awarded the following small businesses — all headquartered in Washington County — with grants:

  • Antojitos y Panaderia La Oaxaquena, an authentic Oaxaqueña restaurant that brings the rich culinary heritage of Oaxaca, Mexico to Washington County, was awarded $10,000.

  • DAnu Wines, a Pacific Northwest winemaker known for its artisanal wines crafted from locally sourced grapes, was awarded $5,000.

  • Roasted by Mom Coffee, a woman-owned coffee roaster that emphasizes local ethical sourcing processes, was awarded $5,000.

  • My Little Rainbow Child Care, a licensed home daycare facility offering child care and play experiences for ages up to 12, was awarded $2,500.

  • Finnegan the Dragon, an in-class learning system focused on speech and language development through music, motion and interactive technology, was awarded $2,500.

Additionally, 20 other applicants received complimentary one-year Washington County Chamber memberships that will provide valuable networking and educational opportunities.

“Washington County is full of so many inspiring small businesses, making this decision that much harder,” said Cox. “These grants will surely make an impact and are just the beginning of our presence in the local small business community.”

To qualify for the grants, applicants had to submit videos showcasing their business and how they intend to use the money. These videos provided InRoads with knowledge about how each business contributes to the community, whether by enriching the cultural landscape, supporting local agriculture, or contributing to the education and development of young minds.

“We are grateful to InRoads Credit Union for their partnership and for helping our small businesses achieve success through these opportunities," said Deanna Palm, President/CEO, Washington County Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to congratulate the grant award recipients and warmly welcome the new members to the Chamber community. Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant Washington County.”
