Louisville, KY (May 28, 2024) |
A crowd of over 250 gathered on Saturday, May 18, to celebrate the ten-year anniversary and groundbreaking ceremony of the Adventurous Minds Produce Extraordinary Dreams (AMPED) Russell Station Tech and Learning Center in West Louisville. The over 12,600 sq ft facility will be a workforce development space for the community and a hub for providing in-demand technology training for individuals in low-income communities, with graduates being placed in IT roles throughout the city. The much-needed programs through AMPED will help kickstart a revitalization of our community workforce.
Park Community Credit Union (PCCU) joined in on this worthwhile community initiative when short term capital was needed to get the project off the ground. PCCU used Emergency Capital Investment Program (ECIP) funds to assist in the funding needs of the project.
Jana Erny, Park Community’s President/CEO states “At Park Community Credit Union, we are committed to empowering our communities and the Amped facility is a testament to our commitment. ECIP funds allowed Park to provide impactful support, resulting in the development of what will be a vital community resource center. We congratulate Amped on ten years of changing lives in the community and are thrilled to see the positive impact this will have on our community’s future.”
Park Community received $122 Million in ECIP funds in 2023 and this is one of many projects the funds have gone to elevate opportunity in the lives of so many in Louisville and surrounding communities. In addition to this project, the Park Community Credit Union has put over $128 million in ECIP qualified funds to work through lending initiatives focused on investing in our communities.
