Community South Credit Union is excited to announce the recipients of the 2024 “Make-A-Splash!” Classroom Grant. This grant was developed to provide funding for unique projects focused on STEAM that enhance the classroom experience beyond the normal curriculum. This year, the credit union awarded three grants for a total of $4,500 to winners in Walton, Holmes, and Washington counties. Each educator was awarded a funding amount based on their individual project proposals.
“Each year we are more impressed with the creative ideas teachers put forward to empower local students with access to new and innovative learning opportunities,” said Jan Page, CEO of Community South. “We proudly support their initiatives and hope they experience great success!”
Congratulations to each of the following “Make-A-Splash!” Classroom Grant winners:
- Felicia Permenter at Walton High School was awarded a $1,500 grant to implement virtual reality technology to help students learn mathematical and other academic concepts.
- Miranda Jordan at Kate M. Smith Elementary School was awarded a $1,500 grant to incorporate art and technology in the ELA curriculum to provide custom hands-on lessons to address specific learning needs.
- Morgan Boyd at the Graduation Assistance Program was awarded a $1,500 grant to use STEAM principles that will help students gain an interdisciplinary approach to agricultural concepts while developing skills essential for their overall success.
